Table Cards

Cards that turn up on the table and are available to each player's hand.

The Table Cards increased my odds of winning this hand.

Tapped Out

To be out of money.

“Oh man, am I ever Tapped Out . ”

Tell

A hint that reveals the actual strength of a player's hand. Online, these hints can be detected by watching a player's betting patterns. In a live game, these hints can be detected through body language.

His shifty eyes are the Tell that gave away his bluff.

Third Street

In Seven Card Stud, this is the first betting round on the first three cards.

Sarah was a tight player, she hardly ever saw past third street.

Three of a Kind

Three cards of the same rank or face value.

My Three of a Kind, 8,8,8, beat your Three of a Kind , 3,3,3.

Ticket

A card.

The dealer passed out Tickets to each of the players.

Tight Player

A person who plays conservatively and does not play many pots.

“Alex is a tight player. He doesn't play many pots.”

Tilt

Negative behavior that results from losing.

“Look at that girl. She's on a crazy Tilt from losing a bunch of money.”

Time

(1.) A break requested by a player.

“I requested a Time to take a bathroom break.”

(2.) Money collected by the cardroom. Time is another term for rake.

The Time was collected by the dealer.

To Go

The amount of money that a player must call if he or she wishes to continue playing.

“I raised to make it $25 to go.”

Toke

a tip for the dealer.

“I earned a Toke last night when one of the players won a large sum.”

Top and Bottom

Two pair, with your two hole cards pairing the highest and lowest cards on the board.

“The Top and Bottom made me the winner.”

Top Pair

A pair made by matching one of your hole cards with the highest community card on the table.

“The Ace of Hearts was the highest community card on the table. Matched with my Ace of Diamonds, I had the Top Pair .”

Top Two

To have both of your pocket cards match the two highest cards on the board.

“His Top Two beat my pocket fives.”

Trapper

A player who underbets a strong hand to create a larger pot.

“Adam underbet his strong hand. He's a Trapper .”

Trips

Three of a kind.

“My Trips beat your Trips … yesss!”

Turn card

In a flop game, this is the fourth card dealt and the third round of betting.

“The dealer placed the Turn Card on the table, and finished the third round of betting.”

Two Flush

A hand consisting of two suited cards.

Two Flush can sometimes make you the winner.”

Two Pair

A hand consisting of two different pairs.

Two Pair is a decent hand.
