US solider Kyle Riley of Virginia recently tied the knot with his fiancée after being treated to an all-expenses paid trip to Las Vegas along with a few dozen other soliders courtesy of billionaire casino giant Sheldon Adelson, who runs Las Vegas Sands Corporation.
Riley, who is 21 years-old, lost part of his leg to an IED in Iraq. All of the 40 soldiers had been wounded in battle and were transported via private jet from Walter Reed Army Center in Washington and the National Naval Medical Center at Bethesda to Vegas, where they received a warm welcome at the airport by Wayne Newton. They also spent some time backstage with members of the Blue Man Group and hung out with Adelson.
The soldiers were put up at the Venetian Resort Hotel Casino on the Las Vegas Strip. Armed Forces Foundation officials said the trip was a dream distraction from the everyday life at the hospitals, where the soldiers lived while recovering from their injuries.
